April Fool Day

April Fools' Day or All Fools' Day, is a remarkable day renowned in several countries on April 1. April fool’s Day is a "for-fun-only" ceremony, the intention of which is to make embarrass the innocent.

Observances around the World
April Fools' Day is celebrated all over the Western world. Pranks may be giving somebody a "fool's task," searching for the non existent things; making people to believe stupid things, and some other silly things.

The source of this practice is much doubtful. Mexico's celebrate April fool’s Day on December 28.
In Cornwall, April fool’s Day is famous by the word 'guckaw' or 'gowk', which is a synonym for cuckoo (a bird).
In Cheshire, an April fool’s Day is called 'April gawby' or 'gobby or gob'.
In Christow in Devon, mischievous activities start in the afternoon.

The day there is identified as ‘Tail-pipe Day'.

The day is recognized as ‘Gowkie Day' or ‘Hunt the Gowk' in Scotland.

In the Orkney Isles, the pranks are shifted on the next day, that is 2nd April, which is well-known as ‘Tailing Day'.
An April fool is named a 'fish' - 'poisson d'Avril' - and it is the tradition to send friends a delicate gift build up in the shape of a little fish in France.

Pranks executed on April fool’s Day ranging from simple to intricate. Setting an alarm clock an hour back is a familiar joke. No matter what is the gag, the cheaters habitually conclude it by making his victim, "April Fool!"

Realistic gags are a general practice on April fool’s Day. Sometimes, intricate realistic jokes are play on associates. The various Medias even joined on this occasion. Even practical jokes are kept up the whole day before the victim realizes what day it is. Most of the jokes are for pure enjoyment and not intended to hurt anybody.
