After collecting the clay from the sacred river Ganga, the wooden framework of the idol of Goddess Durga is constructed, made up with straw and clay. This marks the first stage of the pre-puja preparation.

The artisans makes a model of the Devi Durga and then gradually this turns out to be the idol of the Goddess which is worshipped. The creativtiy and talent of the artisans are reflected throug their wonderful creations.
