The coveted singer Kumar Sanu is making his debut as a film producer with the flick, 'Utthan'. The luminous vocalist is now trying his hand on another department of the film - the production. The new face has also been roped in to the field of direction. Utthan directed by Ujwal Chatterjee is based on the Jessica Lall's case. Neha Dhupia is playing the role of Jessica in the movie. The film begins with news clips on victims like Jessica Lall, Shivani Bhatnagar, Nandini Singh and Madhumita Shukla. The saga revolves around the present generation who believes to achieve their ambition and in the process is misled in a world dangerous and vicious circle of money, sex and drugs. They are engrossed in reaching to the top and getting the maximum facilities with the maximum economical benefit in an easiest way. The sparkle of money and the glamour of the position is all that attracts the youth to step inside the elite class. To achieve this, they would even ready to loose their principles and self-respect. The film focuses on politics of today, which has emerged as a corrupt business that people like to enter it to achieve power, money, advantage and influence. They forget all about ethics and principals and only worry about their own self. With a powerful nexus of corporate world, glamour industry, politics and media, there is an 'utthaan' or progress of an individual. The youth that could be the backbone of the country has worried more about its personal gains instead of any social benefits! It's a fact that media has much influential power to make somebody famous and destroy anyone's career and reputation. Today's generation forget their honesty, origin and easily indulge in hypocrisy. The result then oozes out with making them instrumental and instinctive in destroying the value and principles of the country. The story raises some burning issues of how the youth can contribute to the upliftment of the country but actually they are exploiting the country's ideology. Judging the present situation, the film leaves a question about the situation of tomorrow.

Mahesh Bhatt's coming film 'Woh Lamhe' is based on high profile romance and his intimate relationship with actress Parveen Babi who passed away last year. Recently he admitted how jealous he felt when a superstar was wooing Parveen. He here tells a story close to his heart through the film 'Woh Lamhe'. Late Indian actress Pravin Babi, her life was very complicated and in isolation at the time she died. It is about her who used to live in Juhu and about her crush on a Super Star who lives in Juhu and is still a Super Actor. But she has an affair with a director who still makes movies and also lives in Juhu. He also has a production office in Juhu. But this is all after she had a huge affair with a model turned theatre artiste, turned Bollywood and the Hollywood actor way back. He also used to live with her in Juhu because his wife and kids were living in his Juhu home. She died in her Juhu flat a few years ago.
Bhatt made a perfect casting - Kangana Ranaut for playing Babi and Shiney Ahuja for playing himself. The young director has been entrusted with the responsibility of bringing alive the glorious moments shared between Mahesh Bhatt and Parveen Babi. In the glitzy entertainment capital of Mumbai as dusk descends, famous actress Suna Azim (Kangana Ranaut) slashes her wrists in a hotel room, in an attempt to kill herself. The film is all about on it, why shy is trying to do so, why did she leave their love, when there still to be hope? What pushed her to attempt suicide? Will be finally be able to piece together the puzzle that has been haunting him and almost destroyed him? And most important of all, will she reunited with his love?
