  Primrose Day

Primrose Day

Primrose Day
Primrose Day is celebrated on the death anniversary of British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli (Lord Beaconsfield), on 19 April 1881. At the Parliament Square bronze statue of Lord Beaconsfield, facing St Margaret's Church was founded in tribute of him. Every year on the death anniversary of him the statue is adorned with primroses.

He preferred English primrose very much; so it is celebrated on this day to memorialize his intense feelings. It is worthy to mention that, Queen Victoria send bunch of primroses to his interment. According to a report:"The coffin lies on its bier in an alcove leading out of the modest hall of Hughenden Manor. But of its material, one might almost say of its dimensions, nothing can be seen. It is literally one mass of floral beauty. Here are wreaths from every member of the Royal Family in England bouquets of primroses sent by the Queen, with an inscription attached to them, saying that they came from Osborne Hill, and that they are of the sort which Lord Beaconsfield loved."

According to a myth, St. Agatha, a virtuous victim, and follower of Malta discarded the proceeding of a Roman prefect, so he determined to harass for her Christian belief. She was captivated and tormented.
Agatha’s benefactions shower on the victims of bell-founders, breast cancer, natural disasters and so on. Primrose is also dedicated in honor of her on this very day.

Flowers can convey the best language of our heart, which we don’t want to articulate. So every year primrose day is observed to celebrate with all its grandeur on 19th April. So express your feelings on this day to your friends or beloved ones with blossoming notes of love and adoration.
