Murshidabad has plethora of visitor spots in and around the city. Some of the most significant are listed here.

Hazarduari Palace
The Hazarduari Palace is in all probability the principal magnetism of Murshidabad. It was built in 1837 by Duncan Macleod of the Bengal Engineers for the Nawabs of Bengal. It contains an exceptional compilation of old arms,curios, china, and paintings. The fortress took 17 years to build and is a museum today. It has 114 rooms

and 8 galleries. With its 1000 doors and Gothic style, is now a museum. One of the other attractions is the Katra Masjid built in 1724 AD by Nawab Murshidkuli Khan. It is reproduction on the lines of the Mecca mosque.
The Jahankosh, huge cannon, is another attraction. It is 17.5 ft long and 16,880 lbs. in weight. It was built by Janardhan Karmakar in Dhaka.

Nimak Haram Deori(The Traitor's Gate)
The Nimak Haram Deori or the Traitor's Gate is the central gate of Jafraganj Palace of Mir-Zafar. It is one Km North of Hazarduari. Within this citadel was killed Nawab Siraj-ud-Doula in an act of great betrayal. His grave is at Khusbagh (Garden of delight) alongside with the grave of Nawab Alivardi Khan. His wife's tomb is also here.
Kathgola
Kathgola has the remains of the garden house of Jagat Seth one of the

co-conspirators in opposition to Siraj. At Kathgola in the garden house of a Jain merchant there is a Parswanath Temple.

Jiaganj - Azimganj
The Jiaganj - Azimganj area has a few Jain temples. Jiaganj is 9 kms from Baharampur while Azimganj is 14 kms away. Not far from Azimganj is the Rani Bhabani's terracotta temple which is measured to be one of the best paradigms of Bengal's terracotta art.

Wasef Manzil
This Palace was built by Sir Wasef Ali Mirza, Nawab of Murshidabad. This beautiful Palace was also the habitation of Nawab Wasef Ali Mirza. The staircases made of marble and gorgeous statues of this Palace are worth considering.
Katra Mosque
Katra Mosque is about one and a half km from Murshidabad Railway Station on the Berhampore-Lalgola Road. This impressive construction was built by Nawab Murshid Quli Khan in 1723-24 and it remainder one of the most significant traveler attractions. The gorgeous building with its vast domes and elevated minarets has a simple memorial park of the Nawab.
Bagh
Khosh Bach lies on the opposite banks of Bhagirathi. The grave of Nawab Alivardi Khan, Alivardi's Mother, Siraj-ud-Doula and his wife Lutfannesha and other members of the Nawab family lie here.
Katgola
Mahimapur is half a km north of the Nasipur Palace. Here, the palace of Jagat Seth and the once famous Pareshnath Temple are now in ruins.

Moti Jheel
Motijheel is about one km South of Lalbagh. This attractive horseshoe formed lake was dig up by Nawazesh Mohammad, the husband of the famous Ghasseti Begum. Moti Jheel was the dwelling of Warren Hastings when he became the Political President at the Durbar of the Nawab Nazim (1771 - 73 AD) due to the fact of it having been in the profession of the East India Company. The only old construction existing is the Mosque of Shahamat Jang.

Festivals
Muharram is celebrated with grandeur. Bera Bhasan on the Ganga with illumination and fireworks is illustrious during mid-September.
